I'm wondering if it actually represents maybe the top of a mound, a large mound of coral and when that mound sort of stops being active and the encrusters and the endolists are to take over, they form this rind over the top. And now we've eroded through the entire thing and we're just seeing the side. Is that or some kind of crack that is infilled in the past? But sometimes it makes you think of a fault because they can be so long and straight.
