At HS125 the spurs don't seem as tall as some of the spurs we've seen in other parts of the island and as a broad gentle slope of coral heading up towards the road it's covered by quite a bit of sand at the top but it does seem like the spurs are not the highest feature actually the back the back reef that's what it is seems a bit higher than a spur itself.

This gently sloping pattern with lower spurs kind of near the airport matches our experience on moke at Yuri Ata if I'm remembering the right island but the section we did right at the end of the runway.

A few photographs showing me outcrop in a groove near sea level where again the difference between Holocene and Fivig is really hard to tell. It's the right of Jacky in the second photo. There's a distinct horizon of clasts that seem to be weathering out differently than the rocks above. It could be a Holocene storm when sea level was a little bit higher. Rocks above it and behind it are very different weathering profile.

Returning to the west side, there's a lot of energy in large waves today. It's clear that the beach has filled up since we got here. We're measuring at GPS point. We got the topmost sand that seems like it was recently placed. Almost five meters higher than the tidal datum. It's really impressive how much sand can move in and out just a few days. Without hurricanes, it's not even raining. It's just large waves coming off the southwest side today.
